Household Trash Drop-off Location

The Settlers Hill Landfill stopped receiving trash in 1987. Because there is no dump in Kane County, all of our household trash, yardwaste, and recycling is now collected at the curb by our waste haulers and processed through transfer stations.Recycling is taken to Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in surrounding counties, and yard waste is sent for composting. Garbage is delivered to landfills in other counties and even as far away as Wisconsin. If you have large quantities of trash that you cannot leave at the curb, then these resources may help.

For large loads of household trash; the first one listed is the most affordable option for drop-off, with the weekend Residential Special. The others listed are options if you have very large quantities (tonnages).
