Workforce Development Plan Modifications Available for Public Comment

Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the Workforce Development Board for Kane, Kendall and DeKalb Counties developed and adopted a plan in 2016 to guide workforce development programming throughout the three-county area for the next several years. The Board is now accepting public comment on modifications to the plan in accordance with updated planning guidance published by the IL Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The plan can be accessed here, with the proposed language additions italicized within the document. An updated Individual Training Account (ITA) policy adopted by the Board on February 8, 2017 is incorporated as an attachment to the plan. The former On-the-Job policy has been omitted, as it is not a required local plan element. Questions or comments may be submitted to Jenna Gonzalez via email at gonzalezjenna@countyofkane.org through April 15, 2017.
Comments are also being accepted on modifications to the Northeast Region WIOA Plan, which is available for download on the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership website here.
