For over 50 years, Kane County has realized the benefits of cutting-edge planning policies designed to achieve a prosperous, more desirable county. The Quality of Kane campaign reflects our continuous mission to maintain and enhance an exceptional Kane County with Healthy People, Healthy Living and Healthy Communities.

Kane County 2040 Plan: Opportunities for future generations.

Kane County recently released a four page publication that summarizes the message of Kane County's 2040 Plan. Kane County’s 2040 Plan proposes vision and direction for the Kane County Board and the County’s 30 municipalities to plan for growth and to improve our quality of life. The 2040 Plan is part of the Quality of Kane initiative. It responds to the challenges that need to be addressed and integrates the planning efforts for land use, transportation and health. It reaffirms the County’s commitment to Healthy People, Healthy Living and Healthy Communities so that Kane County can continue to hold promise and opportunities for our future generations.

For more information, please view the Kane County 2040 Plan Brochure.

2040 Plan Implementation Grants: Creating Healthier Communities Grant

The Kane County Planning Cooperative Creating Healthier Communities Grant is designed to provide funding to implement the Kane County 2040 Plan, focusing on 6 of the plan’s high priority health, land use and transportation policy recommendations. Widespread implementation of these 6 policies will have positive, measurable population health impact, decrease chronic disease burden and reduce health disparities in Kane County.

Funding is available to municipalities in Kane County as well as other public and civic organizations, including, but not limited to, park districts, school districts, hospitals, schools, and economic development organizations. Funding will not be made available to individuals.

Please view the Creating Healthier Communities Grant Packet for more information.
