Kane County Electric Aggregation Rates
Beginning in August 2020, a new contract with AEP Energy will go into effect. The rate will be 6.37 cents per kWh for 12 months. This rate is all-inclusive and there is not a separate transmission rate or Purchased Electricity Adjustment (PEA) fee.
The "Price to Compare" for ComEd consists of the Electric Supply Charge plus the Transmission Service Charge. The electric supply charge is the base price you pay per kWh for the electricity you use.
Price to Compare = Electric Supply Charge + Transmission Services Charge
The "Price to Compare" does not include the PEA fee, which is reset each month and can range from a debit of 0.5 cents to a credit of 0.5 cents per kWh for ComEd default rate customers only. Under Kane County's electric aggregation program, there is no PEA charge.
