In 1993, Kane County established the Cost-Share Drainage Improvement Program to provide aid to homeowners in older subdivisions developed prior to modern stormwater management. Water Resources can help offset the cost of construction with funds from the Riverboat Grant program instead of tax dollars to match the contributions of the homeowners.
Projects that are considered for the program are based on severity and must meet specific eligibility requirements. The goal of the cost-share program is to fund projects that will provide long term solutions, modernize the drainage systems in the residential areas and provide relief to property owners.
