Aurora Location: The Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant promotes and supports population health by providing expertise and technical assistance to providers in the early childhood sector. Mental Health Consultants will have knowledge of early childhood development, be comfortable practicing in various early childhood settings, and be able to integrate various appropriate mental health activities and philosophies. Additionally, MHCs will have an understanding of the concepts underlying young children's social-emotional development such as attachment and separation, impacts of trauma on the developing child and brain, and the ability to discern culturally appropriate behaviors and practice cultural sensitivity in all encounters. This position oversees the analysis, research, development, implementation, and evaluation of all grant deliverables for the Caregiver Connections Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation initiative for the Kane County Health Department (KCHD). This position is responsible for meeting various grant deliverables and milestones related to consultation activities. Services are provided during normal business hours, on weekends and evenings.

Requirements: Five (5) years of experience in early childhood/behavioral health field is preferred; Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) as outlined in Administrative Rule 132, or include at least a master's level mental health related degree with sufficient experience to reasonably qualify the individual as a Qualified Mental Health Professional(QMHP) as outlined in Administrative Rule 132, or include at least a master's degree or graduate certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Infant Mental Health, or other related field and have successfully completed a practicum or internship that included a minimum of 1,000 hours of applicable supervised direct service, or have one year of applicable clinical or early childhood consultation experience under the supervision of a QMHP; Bilingual in Spanish preferred. National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) 100 certification within one (1) month of hire; National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) 700 certification within one (1) month of hire. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
