“Clarke is a global environmental products and services company focused on mosquito control and aquatic services including pond and lake management. Our mission is to make communities around the world more livable, safe and comfortable. We do this by pioneering, developing and delivering environmentally responsible mosquito control and aquatic services to help prevent disease, control nuisances and create healthy waterways.
Our sustainability strategy is designed to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and to look for opportunities to minimize our environmental impact in the way we operate and in the products and services that we provide. To see steps we are taking as individual and as an organization, please take our look at our most current sustainability report, From Aspiration to Action.

“We currently compost all of our food
waste (also brought in from our homes) in our onsite garden where we grow our
own vegetables, we have 3 beehives onsite, we use a solar water pump to use the
water from our pond to irrigate our garden, we use a [big fan] in the colder
months to make our two warehouse furnaces more efficient and use less energy. We
started recycling in April of 2013. We've cut down our waste by more than half,
and only have one pick up vs. the two weekly we had prior to recycling. If
anything, this has opened our employees' eyes to what is actually recyclable.
Our [trash] dumpster is less than 1/4 full on our ONE pick up and our recycling
is overflowing every week.”
"At HLR we try to ensure that our company and employees are aware of the environment and make every effort to reduce, reuse and recycle. As a company , we collect paper products and other aluminum and glass products for recycling. We have instituted motion activated light switches to conserve electrical energy. In our recent office remodel, we purchased refurbished office furniture instead of buying new furniture to limit natural resource use. We have instituted an Environmental Committee to present different topics, activities, each month to increase environmental awareness in our firm. The Environmental Committee was started in March 2013. We implemented a compost bin sale in April 2013.
Our Environmental Department provides Native area Management and Maintenance services to clients. We encourage native areas which broaden environmental diversity, attract wildlife and improve water quality. We have community outreach as part of several of our projects where we write newsletter articles and present different environmental topics to help educate our communities and neighbors."

"KittyKaddy Manufacturing LLC located in Saint Charles , IL designs and manufactures assistive pet care tools for those with physical limitations that may inhibit the ability to care for a cat or dog. We are proud to say that all of our products are made in the U.S. and we as a company strive to follow ecologically sound practices. Among these, in October 2013 we upgraded our shop ceiling insulation to R-38. We also perform energy-intensive production (i.e. heat-forming operations) when possible during the colder months. We have also recently switched to using low VOC adhesives exclusively. We recycle office paper and our plastic scrap is sorted and sent to a dedicated plastics recycling center. Also, all of our packaging material is either re-used or recycled."
