Electronics Recycling


Electronics​ ACCEPTED ITEMS​​

The Kane County Electronics Recycling Program is for residential equipment only, and includes 2 drop-off locations and a number of scheduled events (see below details). ​​Businesses can see this list of electronics recycling companies​ to assist with their needs.

​DROP-OFF LOCATIONS - o​pen 5 days/week 

Batavia, Fabyan Parkway
Location: 517 E. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, IL 60510​ SEE MAP
Hours: M-F 8am-4pm (Closed 5/28 for Memorial Day)

​West Dundee Public Works
Location: 900 Angle Tarn, West Dundee, IL 60118 SEE MAP​ 
Hours:  M-F 7am-3pm (Closed 5/28 for Memorial Day)

South Elgin location has CLOSED permanently​.​

Costs: TVs and Monitors cost $25 (under 21" measured diagonally) or $35 (21" or over). Pay onsite with cash or card or pa​y online in advance HERE​ (if you use this option, you MUST print the receipt and bring it with you).​ All other acceptable items​ are free to drop off.

Staffed sites: These sites are staffed. They will help you unload and take your payment, and issue a tax deduction receipt. 

Books are not accepted at the daily drop off locations - only at the events at 540 S Randall Rd in St. Charles on the dates listed below​.

COLLECTION EVENTS - schedule below​

NEXT RECYCLING EVENT is the EXTRAVAGANZA
When:   July 14th
, 2018; 8am-12noon 
Where:  540 S Randall Road, St. Charles, IL 60174 
What: 
  • Electronics see list of accepted items
  • Books (hard and soft covers, any age, any condition, free of cost) are accepted at all scheduled collection events.
  • Document Shredding (4 box limit, see here for details)
  • Paint (has a per can fee​, payable by resident)
  • Batteries, bikes, bike parts, helmets, textiles, shoes, fluorescent tubes, garden tools, and styrofoam. See POSTER for full list and details.
Costs: 
  • TVs and Monitors cost $25 (under 21" measured diagonally across the screen) or $35 (21" and over). Pay online in advance HERE​ (you MUST print the receipt and bring it with you!) ​or pay at event with cash or card only.​ 
  • Paint has a per can fee, payable by the resident. 
  • A​ll other items are free to drop off.
Other 2​018 event dates (on 2nd Saturday of the month): 
  • Sept 8 - electronics, books, NO shred
  • Nov 10​​​ - electronics, books, shred, paint​

No events Jun, Aug, Oct, or Dec 2018.
Other Options not part of the Kane County program​
  • Home Pick-up Service: Illinois Recycling Services
    Call 708-314-8624 to schedule a pick up from your home. This company is an IEPA registered collector of electronics equipment.
