Electronics Recycling

The Kane County Electronics Recycling Program includes both the weekday drop-offs and the monthly event (see below details) and is for Kane County residents and all residents of border towns (like Algonquin, Elgin, Aurora, Montgomery). The program is for residential material only, no businesses. Businesses can see this list of electronics recycling companies​ to assist with their needs.


WEEK DAYS: DROP-OFF LOCATIONS 

*Costs: TVs and Monitors cost $25 (under 21" measured diagonally) or $35 (21" or over). Pay online in advance HERE​ or pay at site with cash or card only.​ All other acceptable items are free to drop off.

Staffed sites: These sites are staffed. They will help you unload and take your payment, and issue a tax deduction receipt. 

Fabyan Parkway, Batavia
Location: 517 E. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, IL 60510 (Old Juvenile Justice Center) SEE MAP

South Elgin Old Public Works

Hours:  M-F 7am-3pm (Note: hours are earlier than other sites)

Books are not accepted at the daily drop off locations listed on that page - only at the events at 540 S Randall Rd in St. Charles on the dates listed.

Books
 (hard and soft covers, any age, any condition, free of cost) are accepted at all scheduled collection events. Please see information on the page linked above.

  • Sept 9 - electronics, books, NO shred
  • Oct 14 - electronics, books. NO shred
  • Nov 11 - electronics, books, shred, paint​

Other Options not part of the Kane County program​

  • Home Pick-up Service: Illinois Recycling Services
    Call 708-314-8624 to schedule a pick up from your home. This company is an IEPA registered collector of electronics equipment.
