Results from Our Very Busy Earth Month: April was Earth Month and your Kane County Recycling Program had its hustle on and then some. All told, the program diverted 85.5 tons of material from landfills in one month alone! That's about the same weight as six loaded school buses. See details of our epic Earth Month month here!
Food Scrap Micro-Hauler Serving Southeastern Kane County: At Aurora GreenFest, we had the opportunity to chat with folks from Our Sustainable Journey, a food scrap micro-hauler and composter. We learned that their service area for food-scrap pick up service includes southeast Kane County - essentially all locations east of Randall Rd. and south of Rt. 64. See their website for more info.

Think Spring = Yard Waste Season: Ahead of spring clean up, we updated our Landscape Waste page, which includes information and links for regular curbside yard waste programs, and for brush collection programs. As a reminder, some yard waste programs allow food scraps to be mixed in.

2023 Green Guide postcard: We are not publishing a fully-fledged Green Guide for 2023 but will be distributing a postcard this month with our 2023 event dates and recycling center info. More details here.
New Recycling Center Guide: The information inside is mostly unchanged, but we gave our PDF Recycling Center Guide a redesign to improve form and function.
Green Your Next Remodeling Project: Construction or demolition debris (CDD) results from building, remodeling and demolition projects, both large and small. See our recent article in Kane County Connects for tips on how to lessen impacts and dispose of materials responsibly. Or skip straight to our new CDD page to find businesses providing CDD handling services locally.
New Year, New Pilot for Obsolete Media: We are piloting the collection of obsolete media (audio cassette, VHS, Betamax, DVD, CD, CD-ROM, DVD-R, laserdisc etc.) at the Batavia/Fabyan Parkway Recycling Center.
